The Catholic community of Kampala Archdiocese is filled with joy as we prepare to celebrate 60 Years of Journeying Together (1966-2026). This historic Diamond Jubilee marks six decades of God's grace, evangelization, and unity under the mother church, *St. Mary's Cathedral Rubaga – Lubaga Cathedral. 


As part of this great celebration, Our Lady Help of the Sick Mulago Parish (1956-2026)*, a beloved daughter parish of Lubaga, joins the Archdiocese in thanksgiving for the journey of faith.

A JOURNEY OF FAITH: MOTHER AND DAUGHTER

This celebration is a story of a Mother and her Daughter. *Lubaga Cathedral*, the seat of Kampala Archdiocese established in 1966, has been the spiritual mother guiding all parishes.


One of its cherished parishes is Our Lady Help of the Sick, Mulago Parish, founded in 1956 to serve the sick, the medical community around Mulago Hospital, and the growing Christian community. For 70 years (1956-2026), Mulago Parish has been a beacon of healing, prayer, and service, under the patronage of Our Lady Help of the Sick.


Together, we celebrate not just years, but lives touched, vocations nurtured, and faith strengthened.


WHY THIS CELEBRATION MATTERS

For 60 years, Kampala Archdiocese has walked together in:

- Evangelization and spreading the Gospel

- Education and health services

- Building strong Small Christian Communities

- Praying for one another – "Pray For Us"


Our Mother Mary, Help of Christians, has interceded for us throughout this journey. As we gather at Lubaga Cathedral, we thank God for His Grace and look forward to the next 60 years with hope.

  Kisoro DPC, Cosmus Edatu, has today addressed mourners at the late Mr Africano's premises in Zindiro village, Kisoro Municipality.  Hundreds of mourners gathered at the home to condole with the family after the tragic shooting that claimed Mr Africano Nteziyaremye and his wife Kyampire Peace on Saturday night.  The DPC assured residents that police investigations are ongoing to bring the killers to justice.  Police has now left the crime scene, allowing the home to be occupied by family members for burial arrangements.  The mood in Zindiro remains tense as the community mourns the prominent businessman who was well known for his businesses in Kisoro town.  Burial arrangements to be communicated later.  May the souls of Mr Africano and his wife rest in peace.

  KISORO -The family of the late Africano Nteziyaremye and Kyampire Peace has announced the final burial arrangements for their beloved parents who passed on 17th October 2026. According to the family, Africano Nteziyaremye, born on 26th September 1967, and his wife Kyampire Peace, born on 26th December 1978, will be laid to rest at their home in Zindiro Cell, Kamonyi Ward, Kisoro Municipality.  FINAL BURIAL PROGRAM - TUESDAY, 20th OCTOBER 2026: The family has confirmed that there will be a Requiem Mass starting at 12:00 Noon at Voice of Muhabura playground, Kisoro Municipality. After the Mass, the burial will take place at their home in Zindiro Cell, Kamonyi Ward, Kisoro Municipality The family had earlier held a Mass at home in Zindiro Cell, Northern Division on Monday 19th October 2026.
